Bruno: Physical therapy for your wallet

Welcome to a fresh look at a topic that might be a little overwhelming, often ignored, readily judged, and oddly enough sometimes creamy. A financial column! Here, you will not find a cool IT How-To and there’s definitely no diet advice. What this will be, I hope, is a place where people will come together to learn and share real nuggets about how they are coping with the current and coming economic situations. Along with my goal for creating a hyper local community here, I hope to shed light on some of the financial questions that are gnawing at you from an unbiased objective perspective.
First, who am I?
Well, besides being an incredibly self-aware writer, I am what most would call a financial professional. I attended Bentley College (now University) some years back for undergraduate and graduate degrees. I have my Masters of Science in Financial Planning, hold multiple financial licenses, and have had the pleasure of fitting myself into various roles in the finance world from Research Assistant all the way to Advisor and Consultant.
My passion is making financial literacy as accessible and demystified as possible. I am also involved in the Waltham Community as an active Rotarian and I sit on a few Boards for some very local non-profit organizations. I think that is a decent bio for now since I have to keep you wanting more.
If you have not already noticed, my goal is to keep this a little on the casual side yet not unprofessional. The research and advice provided will always be of the highest caliber. Learning does not have to be rigid and boring. I believe that for everyone who happens to stumble across this column, they should be able to benefit from the combined knowledge of the community. As exciting as it is for me to dive in to extremely wordy financial diatribes, the benefit comes from sharing real world experiences. I just hope to be a resource that guides and stimulates our conversations.
Homework Assignment.
How many of you reading this thought that I was going to start out by asking you to do something for me? I would like the readers out there in the Waltham and Greater Boston Area to email me with questions that you would like to see answered or just topics that you would like to know more about. I have a few ideas in the pipeline, but like I said I would like to keep you as involved (and not bored) as possible. There is no question too small or inconsequential, remember that! Lastly, at the end of the article, if I can make you smile and help you learn something while you are here, then it’s a good day for everyone.
If you want to see more of me, I have the beginnings of a blog. I’ll leave my email address, and you can follow me on Twitter.
Here’s to fresh starts!
