Former Bentley All-America Mackenzy Bernadeau, a 2008 seventh round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers, appeared in his first NFL regular season game on Sunday when the Panthers faced the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to the team’s website, Panthers.com, Bernadeau “made his offensive debut in the first quarter, lining up in short-yardage formations as a tackle. One play, he reported as an eligible receiver” in a goal-line package.

Throughout the preseason, the former Waltham High standout has been listed as a back-up at both guard and center on the depth chart.

Last season, Bernadeau dressed but did not play in five games, and was inactive 11 times.

The 6-foot-4, 308-pound Bernadeau is the first Bentley product to play in a regular season game in any of the four major professional sports.
