Blasting operations are underway at the former Polaroid site, located at 1265 Main Street, to prepare the grounds for development, according to an announcement from the Waltham Fire Department.

Blasting will generally occur Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the next one to three months to finish site preparation, according to the announcement.

More than one blast may occur each day, and residents may hear noise and feel movement associated with the blasts.

A fire department detail is on scene for every blast, and seismograph records are provided to ensure the blasters remain within the state regulated limits, fire officials wrote.

To be notified of the daily blasting schedule, residents can be added to a call list by calling Waltham Fire Prevention at 781-314-3710.

If a resident's property has been damaged by the blasting, blast damage forms are available at the Waltham Fire Prevention office.
