Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts will kick off this year's Girl Scout cookie season with a "Cookie Rally" on Dec. 1 at Camp Cedar Hill in Waltham.

The event will give local Girl Scouts a chance to discuss marketing techniques, set realistic goals, and create general excitement to get out and sell cookies. Girls will learn techniques for dealing with difficult customers, make promotional signs, and learn entrepreneurial skills.

Girls are encouraged to bring a donation of warm clothes for a winter clothing drive.

Girl Scout cookies will be on sale Dec. 7 through March 12, according to the organization's website.
