Waltham cancels school for Monday after snow storm

Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy and the district's superintendent, Susan Nicholson, have decided to cancel school districtwide for Monday.

McCarthy wrote in an email that she and Nicholson made the decision after McCarthy toured the city with other officials Sunday.

Public works employees will continue clearing all school parking lots once the cars are removed, as well as the school sidewalks, she said.

Trash pickup will be delayed one day, similar to a holiday, the mayor said.
