Waltham's recreation officials have announced and that the city's spray parks will be open this weekend due to forecasts of hot, sunny weather in the 80-degree range.
Hours for the spray parks Saturday and Sunday are 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., officials said.
The spray parks will be officially open for summer this Monday, June 24, with the exception of Drake playground and McCabe playground. Those two will be opened on Tuesday (June 25) since school will be in session on Monday.
The city has seven of the watery facilities available, a symbol of the city’s recent efforts to ramp up building spray parks, officials told the Globe last summer.
Most of the Waltham water parks feature about a dozen spraying elements, such as ground sprays, rainbows, flowers, dragons, buckets, and even a mushroom umbrella. A handful of elements run simultaneously before being shut off and starting new spray features.
The spray parks also are able to conserve water, officials said.
