Waltham police have arrested a 20-year-old Brighton woman and charged her with attempted murder in connection with the shooting at 117 Middlesex St. in Waltham last Sunday, which left a 20-year-old man with two gunshot wounds.

Police arrested Kayla Spangenberg inside the Waltham Police Department's lobby at 8:30 a.m. today with her lawyer present, according to a statement from the police.

Spangenberg allegedly shot a 20-year-old man early Sunday morning at 117 Middlesex Rd. The man suffered two gunshot wounds, but his injuries were not life-threatening, authorities said Sunday.

Police have charged Spangenberg with attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a gun), and shooting a gun within 500 feet of a residence.

She was arraigned at Waltham District Court today and is being held pending a dangerousness hearing, which is scheduled for this Friday.
