Two well-known restaurants in downtown Waltham have announced they will close their doors this week.
Owners of Moody Street's Tuscan Grill announced on the restaurant's Facebook page that the doors would be shuttered starting Nov. 10, while Main Street's The Elephant Walk announced on their website Nov. 11 that they will close for good.
"Thank you for 22 wonderful years. Tuscan Grill will be closing its doors Saturday November 9 so please come say goodbye and have a bite to eat and a cocktail with us," the owners posted to Facebook on Nov. 8.
A woman who answered the phone at Tuscan Grill Tuesday afternoon said the restaurant had closed, but said she did not have time to talk today.
Meanwhile, a post on Elephant Walk's website penned by owner Bob Perry said the restaurant has shut down for good.
"I write this with profound sadness and regret, but The Elephant Walk in Waltham has closed," Perry wrote, noting that the Boston and Cambridge franchises were still open. "Although we shared 'The Elephant Walk' name and cuisine, the Waltham restaurant became a business entity separate from the Boston and Cambridge restaurants on January 1, 2012, under my ownership."
A call to the Waltham Elephant Walk location went unanswered, though a voicemail greeting noted that the restaurant has closed, referring customers to the restaurant's website for a brief explanation.
"Thank you, sincerely, for your many years of patronage," the voicemail greeting says.
