Watertown Community Foundation seeks applicants for $15,000 in grants
The Watertown Community Foundation, a local non-profit organization that receives and administers philanthropic money, is now accepting applications for its health-related, Tufts Health Plan Foundation-funded grants program, “A Healthy Watertown.”
The program, which is designed to help organizations that serve Watertown develop new or continue existing programs with a health focus, will dole out up to $2,500 grants to eligible organizations. A total of $15,000 in funding will be awarded.
To be eligible for the grant, organizations must be public entities or nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status that serve the community, provide a health service or program, and demonstrate financial need.
The application deadline falls on Nov. 4. For an application form, contact Michael Schade, the foundation's executive director, at mschade@watertownfoundation.org or 617-926-1500.
Since its founding in 2003, the foundation has distributed over $250,000 in grant money, according to a prepared statement released by the organization.
