Watertown will hold elections today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for town councilors and School Committee members.

The four at-large candidates, all incumbents, ran unopposed until Oct. 25, when 12-year Watertown resident and public artist Mike Mandel announced his write-in campaign.

Mandel runs on an anti-Walmart platform after becoming concerned with the corporate superstore's plans to open a branch, complete with a grocery store, to Watertown.

"My candidacy is a statement to Walmart to rethink their plan,” Mandel said in a previous Boston.com article.

All Watertown individual district councilors will run unopposed.

Meanwhile, five candidates, including two incumbents, will vie for three open Watertown School Committee slots.

Each candidate interviewed by Boston.com last week cited the next superintendent search, settling unionized teachers' contracts, and implementing technology tools as the most important public school issues.
