Mt. Auburn Hospital will offer a free course to help individuals stop smoking, according to the medical center.

Titled "Steps to Quit," the program lasts 6 weeks to help smokers kick the habit for good.

In the class, locals can master how to deal with nicotine withdrawal and learn new healthy behaviors. The program is taught by a smoking treatment specialist.

The next class begins March 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Cambridge location.
