Watertown-Belmont Chamber of Commerce to host R.D. Sahl, veteran Boston news anchor
R.D. Sahl, veteran Boston television journalist, will share his perspective on the 2012 Presidential election campaign as guest speaker of the “Neighbors and Newsmakers” luncheon hosted by the Watertown-Belmont Chamber of Commerce.
The event is scheduled for March 22 at the Oakley Country Club in Watertown from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Sahl, a long-time news anchor at both Channel 7 and NECN, has spent his career covering stories down the block and around the world. During the past 45 years he’s reported on nine presidents, four popes and the frostiest days of the Cold War leading up to the collapse of Communism.
He is now a visiting professor of journalism at Boston University’s College of Communication and a special correspondent for NECN .
Sahl grew up in a Navy family. He is an honors graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. His work has been honored with numerous regional Emmy awards.
Currently he’s part of the political team at NECN covering the 2012 election.
