An Allston teenager has been arrested after she allegedly stole a 2006 Honda Accord from a gym in Watertown on Sunday morning and charged thousands of dollars to the victim's credit cards.
Tyquannya Tyson, 17, of 32 Richardson St. in Allston, allegedly stole the victim's car keys from a jacket in an unsecured locker at Watertown's Super Fitness on Arlington Street while the victim was exercising, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
Tyson allegedly stole the car, which had the victim's purse, cell phone, ID, and credit cards in it, between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, Lawn said.
Tyson also allegedly charged about $4,000 worth of purchases to the victim's credit cards from nearby stores like Target, Best Buy, and Victoria's Secret, Lawn said.
After investigating the incident, detectives identified Tyson as the alleged perpetrator. Watertown detectives staked out her residence Wednesday until Tyson came home around 3 p.m., allegedly driving the stolen vehicle and parking it on the street, Lawn said.
Tyson was arrested and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, larceny from a building (the victim's car keys), and fraudulent use of a credit card over $250, Lawn said.
