Watertown police arrested a local man earlier this month for allegedly stealing a pack of socks, among other items, from Target on Arsenal Street in Watertown.

Ralph Michaud, 34, of 87 Arlington St. in Watertown, was detained by Target security on Jan. 4 around 5:30 p.m. for allegedly shoplifting a Virgin Mobil cell phone worth $250, a polo shirt worth $20, and the Champion brand pack of socks, worth $10, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

Police arrested Michaud and charged him with larceny over $250.
