Some crafty criminal may well have begun the New Year smelling great.
A manager at Victoria's Secret in Watertown's Arsenal Mall reported on the morning of Jan. 2 that someone had stolen $1,035 worth of fragrances and lotions from the store at some point between 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and that morning, said Watertown Police Lt. Mike Lawn.
Lawn said the missing sprays and lotions were noticed after the store's employees conducted a product inventory.
Managers suspect that one person was responsible for the theft, Lawn said.
The perfumes and lotions offered at Victoria's Secret can range up to $65 for one bottle, according to the lingerie store's website.
