Watertown's Central Rock Gym hosted an opening party June 22 to celebrate their new facility on Acton Street.

An indoor rock climbing facility - billed by the company as the largest and most advanced in New England - has officially opened its doors in Watertown.

Massachusetts-based Central Rock Climbing Centers opened the new facility in mid-May, featuring 28,000 square feet of climb space as high as 48 feet; two multi-function spaces; a workout room; and a monster boulder dubbed "The Orb."

Management celebrated the opening with a party June 22, where attendees received free shirts and discounted climbing passes.

The new facility is located at 74 Acton St., about a mile west of Watertown Square.

The rock climbing facility will also feature spinning classes, yoga, pilates, personal training, free weights, and showers. The company also offers birthday parties, summer camps, workshops and instruction.

The gym will be open 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekends.

For more information, visit the facility's website.
