The Wayland Health Department has run out of the influenza vaccine and is urging residents to check with other sources until it receives additional supplies of injectable vaccine and nasal flu mist.
In a notice to residents, the department said a limited number of flu shots is expected by Jan. 28, though it could be sooner; it’s unclear when the mist will be in.
“In the meantime, for residents who have not received influenza vaccination, we recommend that adults contact some of the larger department, grocery, or pharmacy chains to determine if they have vaccine available,’’ the notice said. “We recommend that families follow up with their child’s pediatrician to determine vaccine availability. Some of the area walk-in clinics will vaccinate children as well.’’
