Wellesley High School Graduation

The largest graduating class at Wellesley High School in the past 20 years*, 321 seniors, accepted their diplomas on Friday. About 2,000 proud family members and friends packed the bleachers and lined the second floor indoor track of the Babson College athletic center, where festivities were moved due to inclement weather.
Standing in front of his fellow classmates -- all dressed in bright red cap and gown -- class president John Gray gave the opening speech saying, “Our education will become our responsibility,” and urging his companions to “forge [their] own destiny,” and “have the courage to create [their] own flight plan.”
Later faculty member Patrick Gallagher advised the graduates on the virtues of getting lost.
“Lose yourself to find yourself,” Gallagher said. “Get lost in risk…Get lost in experiences.”
*UPDATE: The article previously misstated that that this was the largest class in the history of Wellesley High School (as was stated in one of the graduation speeches). After commenters pointed out that I was mistaken, I called the school and found out that I was indeed incorrect, and that in the 70s and 80s class sizes rose well above this years graduating class.
Below are a series of photographs from the event:

321 clearly does not make this the largest class in WHS history. 40 years ago today my classmates and I numbered 426. And I'm sure the classes around us from the decades of the sixties and seventies were all about as big as the baby boomers graduated. Congrats to the new grads.
David Clark WHS Class of 1969.
Congrats to the WHS 2009 graduates.....Well done to you all.
Regarding the opening sentence in the article...the author is unfortunately inaccurate....If he would care to check the records, he would find that 30-35 years ago years ago, Wellesley was routinely graduating at least 100 more (400+) per class..
Just wanted to set the record straight.
The class of 1977 had 525 graduates!
Cllass of '74, 500+ graduating.
Things to do in Wellesley
