Aide at Wellesley nursing home charged with indecent assault of patients
An aide at a Wellesley nursing home has been indicted on charges he indecently assaulted two elderly patients, Attorney General Martha Coakley's office announced today.
Coakley's office said that a Norfolk Grand Jury indicted Antonio Aburjaile, 41, of Wellesley, on charges he assaulted two elderly patients at the Elizabeth Seton Residence, a Wellesley Hills nursing facility. Aburjaile was indicted on three counts of indecent assault and battery on an elder and lewd and lascivious behavior.
The investigation into the matter began a year ago, when allegations were referred by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH). "At the Seton Residence, Aburjaile was responsible for range of motion exercises with patients at the facility,'' the attorney general's office said in a press release. "His duties as a restorative aide included techniques for restoration, checking equipment, making beds, and feeding residents.''
"During the course of his work, Aburjaile is alleged to have indecently assaulted a 71-year-old female patient with multiple medical issues in 2009,'' Coakley's office said. "Authorities also allege that Aburjaile indecently assaulted a 70-year-old female patient also with multiple medical issues in 2009.''
