Wellesley police still investigating alleged sex assault
Wellesley Police are still searching for a suspect in connection with an alleged sexual assault Monday afternoon at a home on Edmunds Road.
“It’s still an active investigation,” said police Lieutenant Marie Cleary. She said that so far, police have not found any new leads. “Nothing has changed.”
Around 1 p.m. Monday, a female called police saying she had been sexually assaulted by a man carrying a firearm and wearing all-black clothing and gloves, according to police. She told police that he fled through a rear door.
State Police joined Wellesley police in an intensive ground search, bringing K9 units and a helicopter. More than a dozen police cars went to the scene to check backyards and interview neighbors.
