The Wellesley Police have posted a video on their website of a car crossing the Rockland Street bridge -- which has been closed to traffic since January.

Caught by a traffic camera just before 7 a.m. on the morning of Feb. 22, the car hesitates for a moment before slowly making its way across the pedestrian walkway.

Police don't know who the driver is, but driving across a footbridge is illegal. They also posted the video on YouTube.

"It's like the equivalent of driving down a sidewalk," said Wellesley Police Dispatcher Sarah Walsh. "It is unlawful."

The Rockland Street bridge is currently under construction by the state, and is scheduled to reopen to traffic sometime in September, according to Terrance Connolly, Wellesley Deputy Director.
