Make the world a better place and join in the Earth Day festivities with the Wellesley Natural Resources Commission on the banks of the Charles River.

From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, the NRC and the Charles River Watershed Association will be cleaning up along the Charles River. From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., there will be three picnics for volunteers: one on the Esplanade in Boston, one behind the Shaw’s supermarket in Waltham and another at Whole Foods in Bellingham.

Wellesley volunteers can meet up at the municipal parking lot at the intersection of River Street and Route 16 near the Newton border.

All volunteers will receive a free Earth Day T-Shirt. Refreshments will be served and clean-up supplies will be provided.

Remember to wear sturdy shoes and long pants.
