The owners of Cafe Mangal have opened Muna, a gift store selling Turkish goods, in a space adjacent the Meditteranean and American restaurant at 555 Washington Street in Wellesley, according to a Muna press release.

Berna Ozargun, who owns the restaurant and gift shop with her husband, Omer, selected handmade items, including pottery, silk scarves, jewelry, pillows, and household accessories, during trips to her native Turkey. Ozargun met with each item's artist and is able to share their background and explain the items' origin, history, and culture.

"Customers appreciate that I'm sharing my culture and handcrafts, as well as memories from my trips, while they shop," Ozargun said. The press release states that she has sold selected Turkish git items at Cafe Mangal for years, and increased customer demand led her to open a separate shop for the items.

Muna is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and by appointment. For more information, Ozargun can be reached at 781-235-5322.
