The site is the former home of the Wellesley Motor Inn. It is currently owned by Wellesley Realty Associates, LLC, and was assessed by the town at $7.3 million. Currently, it is a commercial building that houses a Dunkin’ Donuts, and is permitted for a restaurant and a deli, according to Wellesley’s Planning Department.
The site is also permitted for 36 housing units, though those have not yet been built.
According to the auction house, the property is being foreclosed due to nonpayment of the mortgage. A representative from Wellesley Realty Associates could not be reached for comment.
