Last year's celebration

If you can fly, turn invisible or shoot laser beams out of your eyes, then The Ellie Fund wants you -- to come to its Superheroes Party in Linden Square in Wellesley on Oct. 14.

There will be real-life heroes from the police and fire departments on hand, as well as costumed superheroes from Characters for fun photos. There will be temporary tattoos, Halloween crafts, gift bags and treats.

Tickets are $10 per family in advance, and cover one adult and one child. Extra adults are admitted free of cost; extra children are $5 each. One gift bag per child. The party will last from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the courtyard at Linden Square. If it rains, the party will move inside to 200 Linden Street.

The Ellie Fund is a Needham-based nonprofit that fights breast cancer and provides transportation, child care, housekeeping, groceries and meals to families affected by cancer.
