Property taxes going up in Wellesley
Property taxes in Wellesley will increase by about $247 on the median single family home, according to Chief Assessor Donna Lee McCabe. The Board of Selectmen voted on Monday night to keep the town’s single tax rate.
The property tax rate went from $11.48 to $11.65 per $1,000 of assessed value. That will raise the property taxes by about 2.6% for the owner of a median single-family home, which in Wellesley is valued at $844,000.
Wellesley does not have a separate tax classification for commercial property. The tax rate increase will raise the tax bill for the median commercial building by $2,771. The median commercial building value is $2,052,000.
