City marks recent openings of four new restaurants in West Roxbury

LeanWorks owners Shea Coakley and Peter Roy celebrated their restaurant's recent opening this weekend with Mayor Thomas M. Menino, City Councilor Matt O’Malley,state Rep. Edward Coppinger, West Roxbury Main Streets director Kara O’Conner, and Department of Neighborhood Development acting director William Cotter.

City officials held a ceremonial ribbon cutting over the weekend to mark the recent openings of four new restaurants in West Roxbury.

Los Amigos, a Mexican restaurant, opened in January at 1743 Centre St.; Red-Eyed Pig, a southern BBQ restaurant, opened in December at 1753 Centre St.; Banh Mi Ngon, a Vietnamese restaurant, opened in late May at 1759 Centre St.; and, LeanWorks, a healthy to-go restaurant, opened in April at 75 Spring St.

Mayor Thomas M. Menino and the city’s neighborhood development department acting director William F. Cotter joined residents and local business owners on Saturday afternoon, touring the four new eateries to celebrate their recent arrival, the city said in a press release.

Each of the establishments has received assistance from the city’s business development office and West Roxbury Main Streets.

Together, the four locations employ more than 30 workers, according to city officials.
