Candidates for federal, state and county offices will make last-minute requests for votes Monday night at the Truman Rally, a popular election eve tradition in West Roxbury.

The rally is scheduled to run from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at a municipal parking lot on the corner of Hastings and Centre streets, organizers said.

Local residents are encouraged to attend, according to the event’s sponsors: the Harry S. Truman Society, Boston City Councilor Matt O’Malley and State Representative Ed Coppinger.

Among the candidates who have confirmed they will speak at the rally are Democratic candidate for Massachusetts Senate Elizabeth Warren, according to the event sponsors. The incumbent, Republican Scott Brown, has not confirmed his participation.

Also planning to speak at the rally are: Congressman Stephen Lynch, Treasurer Steven Grossman, Auditor Suzanne Bump, State Senator Michael Rush, clerk magistrate of the Suffolk Superior Civil Court Michael Donovan, clerk of the Suffolk Superior Criminal Court Maura Hennigan, Republican candidate for Governor’s Council from District 2 Earl Sholley, Democratic candidate for Governor’s Council from District 2 Robert Jubinville, and Suffolk County Register of Deeds Francis "Mickey" Roache, officials said.

From 1981 until 2006 the Truman Rally was considered a vital stop on the campaign trail for candidates because it attracted large crowds of supporters, spectators, and would-be voters. O’Malley and Coppinger, who grew up attending the rallies, worked with the Truman Society to bring back the popular event last year.
