West Roxbury student at BC High helps feed poor families for Thanksgiving
The following is a press release from Boston College High School in Dorchester:
Richard Canon of West Roxbury, a senior at Boston College High School, helped Boston Housing Authority employees feed poor families this past Thanksgiving.
Canon is a member of “The Model of Leadersip” class at the school which started a school-wide two-week food and money drive in early November. On November 19 the young men held a collection ceremony in the BC High gym where all the money and food were gathered from the various homerooms.Canon with the Models of Leadership class then went to the Boston Housing Authority and helped sort the food and learned about the BHA and section 8 housing. The BHA employees and the 17 BC High students were the sole providers in feeding more than 300 families.
