Regis College Glee Club will host the twentieth annual College Choral Festival, sponsored by the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.

The concert begins at 7:30pm on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Casey Theatre of Regis College, 235 Wellesley Street.

According to a press release, various choirs will give brief individual performances presenting a variety of music, from classics to folk songs, show tunes, variety tunes, and a cappella renditions for the first half of the program. After intermission, the Smith College Orchestra will play movements from Carmen Suite by Bizet. The concert concludes with the combined choirs with nearly 200 singers and the orchestra performing three movements from the great Bach Magnificat.

The festival has been hosted by the Regis Glee Club annually since Dr. Sheila Grace Prichard, Choral Director at Regis College, originally organized the festival in 1994. In its nearly 20-year history, the festival has attracted more than 30 collegiate choirs.

Choirs currently registered for the 2013 festival include Assumption College in Worcester, Bridgewater State University, University of Massachusetts Boston, and Regis College.

Registration cost: $15 general public; $10 seniors, students, Regis College faculty, staff, and alumnae; $5 children under 12; Regis College students and LLARC members free with ID.
