PRESS RELEASE

The Weymouth Club will officially dedicate its state-of-the-art Mind-Body Center and Spa on Thursday evening, October 24th.

Weymouth Mayor Susan M. Kay is expected to cut the ribbon at approximately 6:00 pm.

The focal points of the latest addition to the Club will be two large studios. One will be for Pilates, while the second will be for various temperatures of yoga, including Heat yoga. In addition, there will be dedicated meditation classes.

“It is all about establishing a tranquil environment,” said Club Executive Director Jeff Linn. “Research continues to show how the mind helps the body. The statistics are clear that the body benefits greatly when the mind has a reduction in stress.”

“Most people today are over stimulated by the constant exposure to technology which is amplified by our fast paced lifestyle,” said Club co-owner Sally Goldman. “There’s too much coming at us all the time, from electronic devices to sitting behind a computer. Being centered is critical to a person’s core health, which includes the physical, mental, and emotional aspects within each of us.

“With the Mind/Body Center, we will be able to offer quietness and centering programs and services which will help reduce stress

and assist in unplugging from the constant bombardment of outside stimuli,” she concluded.

The Spa is a very vital component to the Club’s new addition.

“The Spa will have expanded services related to relaxation therapies and aesthetic treatments,” Linn went on. “Some of these services will include hot stone therapy, Shiatsu massage, manicure, pedicure, facial and much more.

“We will have a full menu of services that will cater to both the male and female population,” Linn continued.

Finally, there is a member lounge that is situated for tennis viewing. There will also be a fireplace, a large screen TV, and open space for meeting up with friends. Or, members could unwind after having one of the signature Spa treatments.

The project has taken almost a year-and-half to complete.

“The Club’s mission has always been to help with a healthier lifestyle under one roof,” said Linn, who traveled to clubs in California, Arizona and New York while helping to spearhead this project.

The end result is this Center and Spa.

“There is no place in this area that has the services we have under one roof,” said Linn. “From the Energy Center where we cater from infants to teenagers to the programs and classes we offer to adults, everything is under one roof.”

This marks the 14th time in the 25 years that Sally and Steve Goldman have co-owned the Weymouth Club, the Club has undergone a major renovation to meet the needs of its members.

“Over the past 25 years Steve and Sally (Goldman) have continued to improve the Weymouth Club and expand its programs and services,” said Linn. “These decisions reflect the growing trends in the health and fitness industry.

“Once again we are meeting that trend head-on with the Center and Spa.”
