The following is a press release from Mahoney's Garden Centers based in Winchester:

Over 1,500 military families will have a merrier Christmas this year thanks to those that donated a Christmas tree through the Trees for Troops program at Mahoney’s Garden Centers. Mahoney’s Trees for Troops campaign ran from Veteran’s Day to December 2, allowing donators to stop-in at any of their eight locations, or call their hotline, to buy a Christmas tree for a military family. This year, a record number of trees were donated, almost twice as many as last year, making Mahoney’s the number one generator of trees for the Trees for Troops program in North America.

“We want to thank you to everyone that donated a tree for Trees for Troops,” said Paul Waxman, Director of Marketing for Mahoney’s. “This is a program that we hold very close to our hearts, and we’re so proud that our community has been so generous to our military families.”

The trees were picked-up direct and fresh from Mahoney’s Christmas tree farm on December 4, courtesy of Fed Ex, and are on their way to bases along our east coast.
