A look inside
the new Newton North
Press cameras were finally allowed inside the largely completed Newton North High School as city and construction officials gave the media a tour Monday of the most expensive public school in state history. At left, from top, the main theater and auditorium, which will house 600 people; the unfinished indoor pool; and a view of the outdoor athletic field from the press box on the second floor of the building.

Arm of plastic, heart of gold
After spending the afternoon fishing near his home in Ukraine, 9\-year-old Alex Skrynnyk, now a freshman at Newton South, packed up his equipment, put his fishing rod over his shoulder and began his walk home. He never thought twice about how he held the fishing rod. He never thought the fishing rod would get caught in a low-hanging power line. The Lion's Roar, 11/17/09
