Artist Carol Lebeaux will cut silhouette portraits of children at a fund-raising event for the South Shore Natural Science Center, an educational nonprofit. Silhouettes, a popular New England art form prior to the invention of photography, take Lebeaux about 10 minutes to create and frame. People are welcome to sign up a child for a sitting Friday or Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The silhouette costs $33, not including mat or frame. For more information or to reserve a sitting, call the science center’s preschool director, Elsa Ryberg, at 781-659-2559, ext. 216.
