Norwood Recreation Department employees Jerry Miller and Paula Pelaggi were recently selected by the Norwood Friends of St. Nick as Honorees of the Year. The pair attended an annual honor luncheon on Dec. 2 for their volunteer work and other civic activities throughout the town. A statement from the organization said Miller and Pelaggi are examples of “passionate people who have spent most of their lives donating their time and efforts in a low-key style allowing them to serve so many special causes in the town without calling attention to them.’’ The Friends of St. Nick honors residents and employees around Norwood for service in the community and also raises funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
