As the alma mater of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Harvard is naturally at the top of the social media list, as TopCollegesOnline.org found after tallying up the number of followers, likes, views, and scores for each school on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, YouTube, and Klout.

Harvard has 1,930,730 likes on Facebook, the brainchild of alum Mark Zuckerberg (left).
That’s about 281 times the amount of students currently enrolled, and the most likes of any college page as of September 2012. Second-ranked LSU has a mere 711,605 likes. Next
Harvard also has the most followers on Twitter, at 151,659.

MIT is less than 2,000 followers behind Standford, while Harvard is another 600 behind MIT with 8,249 followers. Next
Boston schools were totally shut out on Pinterest, bested by Drake University, LSU, and top ranked Texas A&M, which led the pack with 3,255 followers. Next
MIT is again in second place behind Stanford with 41,676,721 views of Youtube videos produced by it’s official Youtube channel. Harvard is fifth with 11.202,301 views.

Thanks to its popularity on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+, Harvard also garners the top score on Klout, which analyzes how people interact on social media sites. Harvard’s score is 93.5, while eighth-ranked Boston College has a score of 84.9.
