Scenes from the Blizzard of 1978 were compared with more recent ones on the 30th anniversary of the storm. The retrospective starts north of the city, in Swampscott at the Lynn line. Snow removed from streets during the blizzard was dumped off King's Beach. In the background the old Dale's of 1978 – a classic beachfront ice cream and fried-seafood place – is now Red Rock Café and Bistro, still serving lobster rolls and more upscale fare inside.
