Blizzard of 1978: Then and now
On Town Way at Peggotty Beach in Scituate, men clambered over the remains of a home that fell like a house of cards.
What homes werent felled by the February 1978 blizzard were ravaged by October 1991's "No Name Storm." The hurricane was made famous in Sebastian Junger's book, "A Perfect Storm," about six Gloucester fisherman who died in 25-foot waves and hurricane winds offshore.
Many homes were never rebuilt.
