Cranberry Harvest Festival
David L. Ryan/Globe Staff
Described as an old-fashioned family festival that celebrates the regions signature dark-red fruit, the event is hosted by the Carver-based Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association, cq one of the oldest farmer organizations in the country (established 1888), and Wareham-based A.D. Makepeace Co., cq the worlds largest cranberry grower. The event will feature food vendors, cooking demonstrations, face-painting, pony rides, and tours of working cranberry bogs. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days, rain or shine, and promises to be a visual treat.
