Ever wonder who your neighbors are on Twitter? A group in Minnesota has come up with an idea we'd like to encourage: on June 1, send a tweet with a # sign and then your zip code, and an introduction to your neighbors.

For instance, "I'm Ted from Auburndale #02466 and I'm a chihuahua owner and #redsox fan." Then you can search Twitter for #02466 or use this page to find other Twitter users in your zip code (try 02421 or 02134 to see it in action, if there's nobody near you yet.)

If enough people use the hashtag (and some of us did on the first Tweet Local day, May 1), then all of us will be able to use it to share news and information on a very local level.
