Andover nipped Billerica by a stroke yesterday in the Division 1 North boys’ state qualifying tournament at Beverly Golf and Tennis Club.

Andover, which finished at 304, was led by Dave Gilbert, who fired a 3-over-par 73 to tie for third individually and Adam Rozenweig, who carded a 75, good for a sixth-place tie. Billerica was paced by Mike Hurley (73) and Mitch Kurker (74), but it couldn’t match Andover’s depth.

Woburn’s Chris Keating was the medalist, firing a 71.

In the Division 1 South tournament at Brookmeadow Golf and Country Club in Canton, BC High ran away with the crown, shooting a combined 313. The Eagles were led by Patrick O’Leary, who fired a 3-over 75 (second overall) and Colin Buckley, who checked in with a 76 (fifth).

Brendan Nolan of Attleboro took home medalist honors with a 74.

Brookline 6, Westwood 0 - Seniors Rachel Gordon, Michelle Li, and Allie Ayers all scored as the Warriors rolled.

Hopkinton 1, Duxbury 0 - Sophomore Sophie Fitzpatrick recorded 12 saves and midfielder Liz Keese scored the only goal as the Hillers (12-0-2) blanked the Green Dragons (13-2-1).

Hingham 3, Ursuline 0 - Beth Findley scored a pair of goals to lead the Harbormen to victory.

King Philip 2, North Attleboro 0 - Senior captain Hilary Bushway scored two goals in the first half to lead the Warriors.

Marblehead 5, Gloucester 0 - Blake Bernier and Shelby Rosenberg each scored two goals for the Magicians.

Girls’ soccer
Gann Academy 5, Chapel Hill 2 - Senior midfielder Nancy Epstein scored a hat trick and set the Gann Academy career scoring mark with 68 goals, highlighting the victory in Waltham.

North Andover 3, Amesbury 1 - Senior midfielder Jackie Sullivan tallied two goals to help the Scarlet Knights improve to 9-3-4.

Lynnfield 2, Georgetown 1 - Junor Kathleen Rourke scored the winner and sophomore Lauren McCarthy notched her first goal to lead the Pioneers.

Marian 3, Trinity Catholic 1 - Freshman forward Lexi Kidd had two goals for the Mustangs.

St. Mary’s 3, Swampscott 2 - Senior captain Michelle Macchione collected the hat trick as the Spartans (7-8-1) upset the 14th-ranked Big Blue.

Cardinal Spellman 5, West Bridgewater 0 - Senior forward Kate Silva had two goals and an assist and senior halfback Caitlin Martell added a goal and three assists as the Cardinals improved to 12-2-1.

Bishop Fenwick 7, Arlington Catholic 3 - Junior captain Doug Garabedian had a goal and an assist and senior Charles Mendez scored his first goal for the Crusaders (8-3-4).

Cardinal Spellman 4, Marian 0 - The undefeated Cardinals earned their 17th win as J.J. Battaglia, Paul Pitts, and Michael Kearney each had a goal and an assist. Tony Bolduc also scored for the winners.

Cohasset 3, Cape Cod Academy 1 - Tyler Durant scored a pair of goals to propel the Skippers.

Lynnfield 5, Georgetown 2 - Sophomore forward George Levantakos led the Pioneers (9-5-2) with two goals.

St. John’s Prep 3, Haverhill 0 - The Eagles improved to 8-6-1 behind two goals by Kevin Barry.

Cambridge 3, Malden Catholic 0 - Sophomore Todd Jensen scored a goal and had an assist for the Falcons.

Oliver Ames 1, Bridgewater-Raynham 0 - David Peretti scored off a Connor McCormick feed 10 minutes into the second half and freshman David MacKinnon recorded his seventh shutout as the Tigers improved to 11-2-3.

Wilmington 1, Triton 0 - Junior midfielder Nick Godzyk scored with 10 minutes left as the Wildcats improved to 11-0-3.

Peabody 2, Marblehead 1 - The Tanners got the winning goal from senior forward Matt Rodgers with three minutes remaining.

Girls’ volleyball
Mt. St. Joseph 3, Maimonides 0 - Senior Brianna Rizzo tallied seven aces and two digs for the Eagles (8-7).

Cambridge 3, Everett 0 - Liz Mazzerella had 4 kills, 2 assists, and 5 aces and Mykaliah Best had 8 kills and a pair of stuff blocks as the Falcons moved to 12-5.

Malden 3, Medford 2 - Senior Thanh Nguyen tallied seven aces and two kills as the Golden Tornadoes stopped their archrivals.

Andover 3, Lexington 0 - Kirsten and Sarah Arvidson had nine kills each for the Golden Warriors.

Bourne 3, Greater New Bedford 0 - Junior Sarah Hannon had 26 total points and 13 aces and senior Hannah Gasper finished with 11 kills for the Canalmen.

Football
Reading running back Tino Perrina will miss Friday’s game at Burlington and his season is in jeopardy after injuring his left knee against Belmont last week. Perrina, the school’s all-time leading scorer, is leading Eastern Mass. with 150 points. The undefeated Rockets (7-0) are ranked No. 3.
