We’ve all been there, staring into a closet full of clothes or an overflowing accessories box but uninspired by the options. That little black dress again? Same heels, different day? It’s time to pull yourself out of the wardrobe doldrums. Why not give some of these hidden gems a try? We’ve scoured Boston and beyond to find some new go-to shopping spots to add to your list of favorites. Whatever the occasion, we have you covered.

WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

To your birthday party

Sells & Co., 547 Main Street, Winchester, 781-721-6700,http://www.sellsandco.com

>This year-old spot in downtown Winchester brings an urbane sensibility to the ‘burbs thanks to its fashionable owner, Liz Kelleher Sells, who stocks the one-room shop with items by Charlotte Ronson and Paul & Joe: Sister and nearly 20 different styles of Hudson jeans. As the air turns cooler, look for wide-leg corduroys and shorts to pair with knit tights. “The skinny has faded into the background a little bit, and it’s all about the wide leg,” Sells says. Plans to expand Sells & Co. into Boston are in the works, with a pop-up shop appearing downtown sometime this fall.

To your anniversary dinner

Isabel Harvey, 41 Central Street, Wellesley, 781-237-3038, and 19 Old South Wharf, Nantucket, 617-480-8759 (open May through mid-October), http://www.isabelharvey.com

>For all that glitters, behold the carefully curated shelves of shiny baubles at the newly relocated Isabel Harvey in Wellesley. Enamel bangles, delicate necklaces, and teardrop earrings rimmed in gold are the perfect complements to any outfit, adding the right amount of polish for that special occasion. Operated by sisters and Wellesley natives Alexis and Kimberly Kissam, the shop also carries a small selection of home accents, including decorative dishes and glass lanterns in addition to its jewelry and bags. Look for the original outpost on Nantucket’s South Wharf, which is open seasonally.

To an outdoor concert

AllSaints Spitalfields, 122 Newbury Street, Boston, 617-517-0894, http://www.allsaints.com

>You’ll find chunky knits, asymmetrical dresses, and Southwestern looks gone glam at this enormous British outpost that settled into its Newbury Street location in 2010. Sequined Navajo prints and cowl-neck eyelet dresses are great staples for catching a little music en plein air and channeling your inner rocker chick. Just add tambourine.

To meet your daughter’s new boyfriend

L’Attitude Boston, 1 South Market Street, Boston, 617-723-8833

>Brightly colored tunics, classic sheath dresses, and understated separates make this new Faneuil Hall spot the perfect complement to the Ann Taylor located just a few doors down. L’Attitude also carries a selection of adorable umbrellas, so getting caught in the rain will never have to mean getting caught not looking good.

To visit your little sister at college

Jack Wills; In Boston: 179 NewburyStreet, 857-753-4524; On Nantucket: 11 South Water Street, 508- 332-1601;On Martha’s Vineyard: 1 South Water Street, Edgartown, 508-939-4371, http://www.jackwills.com

>Collegiate prep the British way: rugby shirts, herringbone blazers, striped jersey dresses, pleated skirts, and dressed up dorm wear (yes, that’s just a nice way of saying sweat pants) at the U.K. chain.

To the opening of an art exhibit

E. Scott Originals, 199B Highland Avenue, Somerville, 617-776,2814, http://www.escottoriginals.com

>Tucked between a barber shop and the Chocolate Tarte on Highland Avenue sits jewelry maker Emily Scott’s year-old shop, where she carefully crafts all of her handmade jewelry in house. “I like to see who’s buying my stuff and I like them to see me,” Scott says. Drawing inspiration largely from vintage tattoos, the store features anchor necklaces, horseshoe earrings, stackable knotted silver rings, and more with a rockabilly, throwback sensibility.

For fall, Scott is releasing a seasonal line inspired by the luxury and glamour of yesteryear. Think pearls, roses, cocktail rings blinged out with gemstones, and a modern interpretation of mid-century necklace sets.

To get drinks with the girls after work

Duchess, 77 Union Street, Newton, 617-964-0054, http://www.duchessboutiquenewton.com

>Open since 2009, Duchess has specialized in the kind of casual wear dresses that can easily transition from the office to a PTA meeting to happy hour and everywhere in between. This season, owner Rachel Sciaba sees more of a ’70s-inspired flare leg on jeans and pants and items that are “a little bit more figure flattering and a little bit more feminine” than last year.
