The Fessenden School, founded in 1903, is an independent, K-grade 9 day and boarding school for boys. Enrollment at the School is 480 including 105 boarders in grades 5-9 from thirteen countries and many states in the U.S.

After more than 100 years, Fessenden continues its focus and commitment to the education of boys at a time when many schools have become co-educational. Fessenden's state-of-the-art facilities, curriculum and programs are designed with the necessities of boys in mind. The mission of The Fessenden School is to teach, nurture and celebrate growing boys, cultivating each student's individual potential and developing in balance his mind, character, heart and body in an inclusive and joyful community that, through rigor, friendship and service, reflects Fessenden's traditional values of honesty, compassion, and respect.

In addition to intellectual diligence, a Fessenden education is based on high standards for personal behavior. The core values of the School underscore a strong academic, athletic and arts program designed specifically for boys. We are fortunate to have over 100 qualified and experienced faculty and staff who support the objective of educating boys to become responsible young men of character and who are interested in contributing to a vibrant school community both in and outside of the classroom. The Headmaster and more than 40 faculty and staff, many of whom have their own families, live on campus. This creates an intimate atmosphere for students who are included in Fessenden's family-oriented environment.

The attractive, tree-lined, 41-acre campus includes a central academic building connected with dormitories, dining facility, library with a collection of nearly 20,000 volumes, administrative offices and an arts wing housing a performing arts center, woodworking shop, and music and fine arts classrooms. Additionally, the campus is home to a state-of-the-art athletics facility, numerous sports fields, two outdoor pools and an ice hockey rink.

During the summer months The Fessenden School is home to Fessenden's Day Camp, sports camps and an E.S.L. Program.

Facilities, including the sports fields and swimming pools on the 41-acre campus are available to be rented for corporate events and private parties.
