Newton Youth Soccer, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation with the vision to promote youth soccer in Newton. NYS sponsors two major programs, an intramural program and a BAYS travel program. There is a separate organization, Newton Girls Soccer, for girls only. We are referred to as the "boys" league to distinguish us from Newton Girls Soccer, but NYS welcomes girls to play in its programs. Their programs enroll about 1700 players annually and we have one of the largest single town attendance in the country.

Newton Girls Soccer is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting girls' soccer in the City of Newton. It is the largest girls' soccer club in the state, providing in-town and travel soccer programs in the fall and spring seasons for over 1,300 girls.

Newton Kindergarten Soccer is open to all children enrolled in kindergarten in Newton. In response to the community's request, they expanded their program with additional fields and capacity for more players. Each hour-long session includes a half hour of soccer "drills" and a half-hour scrimmage, run by volunteer parent coaches. Kindergarten Soccer is held on Saturday mornings, at Richardson Field, located between Beacon and Woodward Streets in Waban.

Newton North Little League serves eligible boys and girls, from ages 5 to 12, who attend, or reside in the school districts of Horace Mann, Lincoln Eliot and Underwood elementary schools. Middle school and private school students, from these districts, are also welcome and eligible to play. Newton North was the first Little League to represent Massachusetts in the Little League World Series Championship in 1953. It is also the home of the 1998 Massachusetts State Champions.

Newton West Little League Baseball is open to boys and girls ages 5-12. There is no residency requirement for tee-ball but for all the other levels of play you must be a resident of, though not necessarily attending, the Burr, Franklin, or Williams school districts.

Newton Girls Basketball Association (NGBA) was started in 1988 by a group of dedicated parents interested in introducing the game to girls in Newton. Today, they have almost 700 girls and over 100 volunteers involved in the league. They are a recreational basketball league with a primary emphasis on having fun and teaching the girls basketball skills. The program is open to girls in Grades 2 through high school.

The Newton Travel Basketball program plays competitive basketball (4th through 8th grade) in the MetroWest Basketball League which includes 35 area towns. Newton places at least one team in each age group. Players who live in Newton or attend Newton schools through the METCO program are eligible. League games are from early December through mid-March.

SMASH Volleyball proudly finished the 2008 season as the champions of the two major age-groups in New England (18+under and 16+under). It is one of the oldest Juniors programs in New England and has 4 major offerings: travel teams, league and skills programs, summer specialty clinics, and a young athlete program.

The Newton North Athletic and Recreation Complex opened to the public in 1975. This cooperative facility has a 6 lane pool, two diving boards, a double wide exhibition gymnasium with seating for 1500, a back full size gymnasium for basketball and volleyball as well as a Simulated Outdoor Area with a 4 lane track, badminton courts and batting cage.

Newton Commonwealth Golf Course is an 18-hole public course located minutes from downtown Boston. 1997 marked the centennial anniversary of the club. It offers a short, but challenging round of golf featuring quick greens and relatively narrow fairways. The Newton Commonwealth Golf Course is open to the public seven days a week and is available for outings to accommodate company groups, clubs, and family gatherings.

Hemlock Gorge in Newton and Needham is a 23-acre wild area along the banks of the Charles River. The park is dominated by the steep gorge, the river, its surrounding stands of Hemlock trees and Echo Bridge, a huge granite and brick structure that spans the river and gorge. The Friends of Hemlock Gorge Reservation is a community organization dedicated to preserving and improving Hemlock Gorge.
