Q. I’m looking for a new car, and while my commute isn’t a huge one, I’d like something fuel efficient and easy to park. I’m also hoping for decent storage and maybe even a stick shift. I also don’t want to spend more the $20,000. So far, I’ve looked at a Kia and Chevy. Anything else I should consider?
A. I recently drove Toyota Corolla IM, which had good storage. The model I drove had a six-speed manual transmission, which added a bit of a sporty feel. My overall average city/highway fuel economy was 35 miles per gallon. If you need to be out in all kinds of weather, the Subaru Impreza is also a great car. It’s at the top of your budget, but it does have all-wheel drive.
