I contacted the GPS software company, and they told me there is no upgrade for it. Is this true?

Q. I have a 2008 Hyundai Veracruz with on-board GPS, and the maps need to be updated. How can I update it myself? I did it once about five years ago without any issues, but I contacted the GPS software company, and they told me there is no upgrade for it. Is this true?

A. I spoke with the software company that provides the mapping for Hyundai and Kia, and they confirmed that there is currently no update available for your vehicle. Most other Hyundai models have updates available, just not the Veracruz. If you are committed to the built-in GPS unit and you plan to keep the vehicle for a while longer, you could connect the sound system with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and use your phone as a GPS.
