Aston Martin drafted Tom Brady as the new face of its luxury sports vehicles, the British company announced Friday.
“Tom is an inspirational leader and athlete who is clearly aligned with our view of Aston Martin,” Marek Reichman, the car company’s creative director, said in a statement. “His performances on the football field — not just recently but throughout his career — are an inspiration for us all.”
The New England Patriots quarterback drives the 2017 Aston Martin DB11, which has a twin-turbocharged V12 engine that can propel the car from 0 to 60 miles-per-hour in less than four seconds, according to a news release. ESPN’s Adam Schefter notes the DB11 starts at $211,995.
As part of the deal, Brady will curate his own version of the 2018 Vanquish S, which will be unveiled later this summer. He’ll work Aston Martin executives on a video series called “Category of One,” too.
Aston Martin is perhaps best known for its relationship with the iconic James Bond novels and films. Last year, a DB10 custom-built for the 007 film “Spectre” sold at auction for $3.5 million, with the proceeds benefiting Doctors Without Borders, according to CNN.
