From Brighton to Mission Hill, streets around Boston will soon be humming with the sights and sounds of Allston Christmas.

This year, Boston’s most popular moving dates fall squarely on Labor Day weekend, with the common day to vacate a residence (Aug. 31) falling on Saturday, and the grand move-in procession (Sept. 1) on Sunday.

In addition to a series of street closures and parking restrictions for move-in weekend, drivers should also be aware that some roads may be closed for the “Straight Pride Parade” scheduled for Saturday between noon and 4 p.m. There hasn’t been an announcement, but a police spokesperson told The Boston Globe that the public should “anticipate street closures and parking restrictions similar to what we’ve seen in the past for other ‘rolling rallies’ in the area.”
