Summer offers so many opportunities to entertain yourself in and around Boston. Here’s an opportunity to join our club. We’re the Boston.com Music Club. Each month, we invite you to sit in as we shine a light on Boston’s music scene, showcasing a wide, diverse range of local acts.

On Wednesday, July 20, Music Club reconvenes and welcomes Jazzmyn RED. With roots in Brockton, MA, Jazzmyn blends spoken word poetry, singing, and rhyming into music with a message. Her talents are many, and her sound is at once socially conscious and catchy as hell.

In August of 2020, Jazzmyn released her debut album, REDvolution. So expect our Music Club session to center around that. The plan is to watch a few of her videos, dig into the inspiration behind the music she makes, and maybe even dance a little — because Jazzmyn makes the kind of music that moves you both emotionally and physically. Heart throbs and head bobs, you might say.

Here’s the part where I introduce myself, as I am your Music Club host. I’m Adam 12, and I’m on-air 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays on Boston’s ROCK 92.9. ROCK 92.9 isn’t my first radio rodeo. I worked at legendary Boston alt-rock stations WBCN and WFNX in the ‘90s and ‘00s, and I’m a Boston.com vet, too. You might remember RadioBDC, Boston’s original streaming alternative radio station? I was there, presiding over some pretty amazing sessions over the years with acts both local and national. I’m trying to bring that energy to Music Club. Having Jazzmyn RED as a guest should make it easy for me to do just that.

Speaking of, watch this space for upcoming events, artist profiles, and more, and join us for Jazzmyn RED on Wednesday, July 20 at 7 p.m.
