Quiz: How well do you know your Boston slang?
We know you're wicked smaht, so test your Boston slang with this quiz.
The Garden. Eastie. Masshole. If you are not new to Boston these are some well-known terms in your vocabulary. However, even if you are a pro when it comes to ordering your Dunks regular, you may be searching the internet for a term or two you hear on your way in and around Boston.
College students entering the city for the first time or tourists on vacation may be at a loss when it comes to some of Boston’s slang. Accent aside, some terms may require further explanation. However, for those of you who have been living in and navigating the city for a while, you may have no issues finding the Pru, the Common, or working your way through the city on the T.
So, when it comes to the C’s, the B’s, the Pats, and the Sox not only do you know exactly what is being discussed, but you also know when you’ll watch them play. If offered a Hoodsie, you’re not set into a stunned silence and if a friend greets you with, “this f****in guy,” you know they mean it endearingly… usually.
